PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a substance that is known to help heal damaged tissue, arthritic joints, and torn tendons. The material originates from blood and has long been used throughout the medical field because of its healing properties. Integrative Care 360 LLC is able to take a small amount of your blood, isolate and concentrate the platelets by spinning the blood in a centrifuge, and inject the growth factors they release directly into the injured area, where they promote the body's natural healing response.
The body’s natural joint lubricant is called hyaluronic acid. Medical grade hyaluronic acid is injected into the joint space to diminish the symptoms of arthritis. Although the medication seems to remain in the joint for a few hours, the effect of the medication on the joint can last up to several months.
