Urgent Care Q&A

What is an urgent care visit?

Urgent Care centers assist patients with illness or injury that doesn’t appear to be life-threatening but can't wait until the next appointment.

An urgent care visit, also known as a quick-care visit, is considered critical and unable to wait for a regularly scheduled appointment. These are different from emergency room visits, as urgent care visits do not handle emergencies.

*If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.

What are the most common urgent care visits?

The most common urgent care visits are:

  • Flu symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Sinus infections and sinusitis
  • Urinary symptoms
  • Ear infections
  • Skin infections
  • Headaches and migraines
  • School physicals
  • Medication refills

Dr. Turner is comfortable treating various acute illnesses in-office and via telehealth. These conditions include but are not limited to cold and flu, COVID-19, respiratory infections, skin rashes, insect bites, and urinary tract infections (UTIs).

She can also diagnose and treat acute illnesses such as strep throat, acute flu, seasonal allergies, and more.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth allows physicians to provide urgent care and other medical services remotely via phone or video conferencing. Connecting with Dr. Turner virtually gives you the opportunity to receive medical care without the barriers that accompany an in-person visit, such as transportation, childcare, scheduling conflicts, and other conflicts.

What are some benefits of going to urgent care instead of an ER?

Urgent care is less expensive than an ER trip, has shorter wait times, offers telehealth options, and is open evenings, weekends, and most holidays.

Integrative Care 360 urgent care providers treat patients as if they were their own and offer them health services that address current and immediate health issues. Once the patient has received the necessary treatment, their attending medical professional will recommend that they make a follow-up appointment with their primary care provider.

In addition to urgent care and telehealth, Integrative Care 360 also provides family medicine services. Dr. Turner and her specialized team see and treats patients of all ages.
